Three-year starter for head coach Mike Papadopoulos … Helped lead Vacaville to a 7-4 record in 2017, including a 4-0 mark in league play … All-league after his senior season … Three-star student-athlete according to both 247Sports and Rivals … Also played defensive end at Vacaville HS … Ended his career with 118 tackles, including seven for loss, with five sacks, one interception and three fumble recoveries … Has also competed in wrestling. He placed fifth at the 2016 CIF State Championships at the 220-pound class, then a year later, finished eighth at the 285-pound class … In wrestling, ranks second in the state at the 285-pound weight class as of December 8, 2017 … Born Oct. 12, 1999 … Intends to study kinesiology at Oregon State and would like to be a physical therapist after his playing career … Chose Oregon State because “I really love the town and I love the school.” … Head Coach Mike Papadopoulos: “Jake is on the short list of young men I’ve had the most pleasure coaching.
